Don't Let Foolish Pride Get in the Way

Most of us seem to have read the same rule book that told us the key to our success in life was to go to school, get a good education, then get a good job and work real hard. Well, we did all that, but it didn't exactly work out the way we thought it should. We find ourselves constantly struggling to pay bills, to make ends meet. Most of us are stressed out financially, with a painful awareness that we need more income.

There frequently is a feeling of inadequacy that haunts us for we find ourselves making uncomfortable compromises, buying not what we want, but what we can afford. We cut back, restricting our purchases to only what is essential, doing without or with far less than what we would like. Given time, our situation only gets worse.

When we finally face the music, and realize that we have to do something else to create more income, we are often hindered by a false sense of pride, the one that has us pretend to be doing better than we really are. We curb our desperation to look good, but that doesn't get us where we want to go. Sure, we can look out at plenty of others who have it worse than we do, but is that any consolation? We are still struggling.

When we are forced to seriously consider other possible ways of generating more income, we are confronted with a wide variety of get rich quick schemes, pyramid operations and other questionably legal or ethical marketing plans. When we wade through those supposed opportunities, if we are lucky, we end up in a legitimate networking business as the best option for us to pursue.

The challenge we face is having to swallow our pride, and admit to the world that we need something more, that we are not really satisfied with our life the way it is. We are apt to refrain from showing our business to our work or business associates even though they are probably in the same boat as we are. To be truly successful in a networking business, we need to focus on sponsoring people at our level or above, and that is almost impossible to do if we let false pride get in the way.

We should take pride in the work we do, and do the best job we can, but if it isn't cutting it financially for us, we need to do something about it. Don't let foolish pride hinder us from pursuing a viable alternative for generating extra income.
